I am on my way back from Europe right now. A work thing, but this was one of those good work trips. Mountain bike riding in Austria with a bunch of the world wide cycling media. Hey, there has to be some good trips also, doesn’t there?
But what is up with the weather. I was on the ground for 4 days in Austria.
First day was raining for 30 minutes, then clear for an hour, then raining for 30 minutes, then clear for an hour and on and on…
2nd day was about 90 degrees and sunny for the whole day.
3rd day started off sunny, but then the biggest thunderstorm I have ever been caught in trapped us on the mountain and pounded us. Lightening all around, trees toppling in the wind, golf ball size hail and the temperature dropped to 50 degrees. We were huddled in a barn trying not to die from exposure or a lightening strike.
Then today, the high was 40 degrees and it was snowing. The big race marathon mountain bike race there today, with 4000 participants had to be cut short…
